The "Cost of Living Crisis" is a Manipulation

Let's talking about rising prices and the cost living crisis.

Did you know that most Western governments, including the U.S. empire and the U.K., and the large companies that manufacture most of our products, don't actually need to be hiking up prices the way that they are? Whether it is for oil, petrol, or general energy prices. And yet that is exactly what they're doing. The the reason they're giving us this time is that the Iranians have closed the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that this has caused a shortage on things like oil. Therefore, the argument continues, it is simply rational and reasonable that civilians need to pay the bill for this. As a result, everyone's living costs go up. But it is simply not necessary, just like it wasn't necessary for the huge hike up in prices during COVID.

During COVID, most people keenly felt what they called "the cost of living crisis", whether it manifested in food prices, fuel, property, rent, clothing, online shopping, or medical supplies. Everything skyrocketed. But did you notice that they never went back down? Conglomerates and giant companies, such as big oil, seized a global crisis as an opportunity to increase their profits. They were already making a huge overhead, but they made huge earnings from the pandemic years. And yet, this unquenchable greed was calmly justified as merely being an unfortunate result of global troubles.

The hike up in prices wasn't necessary then, and it certainly isn't now with the closing of the straight of Hormuz. You don't think Norway can afford it? Or that the US doesn't haven't massive fuel reserves? Of course it does. So we have to ask ourselves: Why are they doing it? (aside from the obvious answer of greed).

One of the main reasons our governments are allowing/encouraging/enabling the costs to go up is because they want people to become frustrated. They want civilians in the West to become not only frustrated but panicked.

"How am I going to feed my family? How am I going to pay my bills? I don't want to be homeless. I don't want to be a poor person. Oh no, my lifestyle is changing drastically. I'm not able to afford the things that I used to. I am drowning in debt!"

For some people, the result is mere discomfort. For others, it poses an actual danger to their lives. Our governments want everyone to be in this mental state, this background humming of baseline panic and fear. Because panic and fear, especially when it comes to money and one's own survival, is one of the biggest motivating factors for white society and white people to lash out. To lash out in anger and hatred - not towards their own government, mind you! Not towards the hyper wealthy. Because, in place of the rightful villain, their government places someone else in the hot seat. Points to another "villain" for us to focus on instead. An external pretend villain, such as, for example, foreigners. Foreigners, Muslims, refugees, people from Western Asia and Iran. It's the same old game white governments have been playing since the tragedy of their birth.

Secondly, this manipulation intersects with military violence. In recent years, there has been such little will among the younger generations to sign up for the military or to take part in any of the so-called "wars" (which are just imperial expansions) which our government continue to inflict on the global majority. Because of that lack of motivation and will, our governments have been scrambling. Because in order to expand the empire, and in order to maintain its stronghold on so much of the world, it needs actual warm bodies. Drones alone won't do. It needs soldiers. So many young people aren't willing to be those soldiers anymore. They don't agree with it. They've woken up to the real darkness behind "patriotism". The propaganda isn't working the way it used to. They don't hate Iranians. They don't hate immigrants or refugees. And many of those who still do buy into that garbage belong to the older generation, being past the prime soldier age.

What then should white imperial governments do about this dwindling resource of young people? Well, they strangle their civilians at home. In a way that affects everyone: through money. Because in a capitalistic society money = life. To survive, you must have it.

If we break this down, it means that, without having to ever actually say it, our western governments are threatening many of us with death if we don't agree to their hateful and violent campaign of global empire and white colonialism.

Squeeze the people at home so they panic. If they panic, they will do things they wouldn't usually do. That's how one press-gangs new generations into being soldiers and murderers for white power. Or at least, silent onlookers who don't kick up a fuss or resist it.

To millenial, Gen Z's, Gen Alphas, the truth is you are being manipulated. But this manipulation hurts because it has real-life affects. They think they can force you. They would rather starve you and make your homeless than give up their voracious imperialism. But we have choice. We always have a choice. Your government might squeeze you. It's going to feel like you're being strangled at times. But do not let that manipulate you into doing their dark and bloody business for them. This is question of your soul. Don't let them have it. Don't stay neutral and silent and small about our government's sins: attacking Iran, supporting the genocide in Palestine, funding genocides, wars, assassinations, government overthrows, coups, exploitation, destabilisations and theft all over the world. Don't take up their weapons and don't go into the night silently.

They want you to focus on an external enemy because they know that this unites people with a horrible and violent unity. It unites people when they are afraid. You're allowed to be afraid, but don't allow them to pressure you it into hatred. Remember who the true villains are.

The answer moving forward is resistance. Be generous in times of want. Be kind in times of hatred. Be firm in times of compromise. Choose community over government lies. Share what you have with each other. Seek out ways to help each other. Resist. Speak up. And yes, sacrifice. Because pretending like we won't have to sacrifice is quite simply a lie. We will have to sarifice. Our comfort, our dreams, our lifestyles, our friends, and sometimes with our lives. The truth is, white empire is going to make us have to sacrifice something. You choose whether it be your soul or lesser things.

So, as the days go one, and the grocery bill is going up, and you nervously watch the interest rates, just remember who is the real villain and who isn't a villain at all.

Don't allow them to control you.
