Oct 7th Anniversary Thoughts

Today is the 7th of October.
Today marks 2 years since we woke up.
Today, the Israeli occupation will spend their time playing the victim while committing a genocide. Today the white, European colonisers will demand that everyone feel very, very sorry for them. "Feel sorry for us on the anniversary of our continued atrocities."
On this day, I turn my attention to something more worthy. I will remember the Palestinians. I will cry and pray and sing "Free Palestine" with my whole being.
For two years, nearly everyone I know called me a monster, callous, an anti-semite, a bully, or a nuisance for calling out a genocide.
All who have stood with the Palestinians have experienced the same things: the gaslighting, the smearing campaigns, the white crocodile tears, the victim-card-playing, the tsunami of propaganda, the shattering grief, the loneliness, the disillusionment, the soft pleads for us to "dial it back a bit", and the loud shouts of condemnation from the blind and the hateful.
The truth is, the monsters here are those who stand idly by, playing "both sides", enabling a genocide through their silence and non-resistance. They are very real, very human, and monstrous.
On this day, I treat it as any other day....
It's "Free Palestine".
It's "We don't stop until they're free".
It's "Liberation for all".
And for you who are reading this and hurting because of the utter injustice, abuse, and abandonment of people in your life, I say: "I know the burden is heavy to bear. And you're doing the right thing. Keep doing what's right. Make that who you are. Make that your heart."
And to those who carry on their lives - untouched, unmoved, unchanged - I say:
You don't think God will vindicate us?
You think you'll come out the other side of this with clean hands?
Look down. They're dripping with blood.
There will be justice.
